During October half term, the boys and I attended some creative events in West Yorkshire, so I thought I’d share some arty fun happening over the festive season at Leeds Museums and Galleries. In October we spent such a lovely morning at Leeds Art Gallery in Artspace – an inspiring space in the gallery designed for children. I thought the four of them would only last an hour, but two and a half hours later we were still there, which was lovely and very unexpected. Then we spent the afternoon at Leeds Industrial Museum (which we all loved) making wands, bath bombs, painting dragons and pumpkins.
Winston especially loves making things, but it was so nice to see Rufus and Otto getting involved too. I am crafty, but not arty and my imagination is just not there, so I try really hard to nurture anything creative in any of them. Being in Artspace was restorative for all of us, and I can’t wait to take them back. There are lots of events going on during December, but I’ve specifically picked out the creative ones.
Make sure you book if you need to – there is still time.

Kirkstall Abbey – 8th December 2-3pm
Not crafty, but really wanted to mention carol singers filling the Abbey on the 8th, as it sounds really quite special.
Have a very merry December with your nearest and dearest!
