Simple glass fillable baubles

Our house is starting to look rather festive, and I’ve been having a little sort out along the way. Most of our decorations are donations, or looking very tired. I’m very traditional when it comes to decorating our (always chosen by Jared) tree. I love green, red, gold and the fairy lights have to be white. I love woodland animals, cinnamon sticks, gingerbread and dried oranges. The last couple of years, the boys have chosen a decoration each for the tree. Safe to say a sparkly car is not what I’d choose to have on our tree, but the two eldest really love it…and somehow manage to remember it exists.

This year I decided to buy our first set of baubles. I couldn’t decide what to go for, then had the idea to get fillable (glass lookalikey) ones, and I am really pleased with how they turned out. They look like giant bubbles and I can fill them with something different every year. Eco friendly dontcha think? This year I’ve gone for pussy willow, eucalyptus, fir and green foliage. I changed the silver ribbon for twine, persevered with squeezing everything through the small opening and ta-da – they’re done.

One sure thing, is that these are for me – not the kids, and there will be no glitter in sight!

What would you fill yours with?

I love this, Esther!! We use those baubles all year round for displaying things we find. The boys have pegs in their rooms which they hang them off. It’s a prettier way to showcase the things they insist on bringing home. We have shells in them at the moment from a trip to the beach last week x

This is such a brilliant idea Rachel. A million times better than it being shoved on the side. I am absolutely going to do this. Thank you xx

Oh I’ve never seen these before and I absolutely love them! I’m definitely going to invest in some for my girls. Just read Rachel’s comment above too and my two would love to be able to put things in them all year round. They’re genius!

Love these…I love the mix of glass, wood, gold and white on my tree. We try and collect a decoration whenever we have been to a different country too. The boys favourite decoration is a tiny Mr Grinch.. Not glass, wood, gold or white haha!
