This week has turned out to be a crafty one. I wasn’t really planning anything (in true Esther style), but I think our range of uninspiring Christmas decorations made me feel like I wanted to inject some warmth into our home. My favourite from this week is definitely my decorative branch, which you can read more about below. The best thing about it, is that your table still looks festive, but there is room for more food on the table. Bonus, I say. Pass the cheese please!
Here is what else I’ve been up to:
- Wreath – I used my metal ring from last year and filled it with foliage from our garden. Our garden is quite limited, but I love green and it’s the perfect size for our front door. Most importantly it does the job.
- Fillable baubles – You can read my little post here about fillable baubles. I am so thrilled with them, and loved reading your comments. Thank you!
- Decorative branch – Each year I am getting more excited about Christmas decorations. I love it when I enter a house that feels so cosy and festive, and I love the subtle glow of Christmas tree fairy lights every evening. Something I saw in Sweden gave me this idea and I love how it turned out. I don’t like things that are symmetrical, or too perfect, and I love a bit of unbalance. It is a 2cm dowel painted white, with some foliage, pussy willow and dried (dead) eucalyptus. The copper wire lights are from Wilkos and the baubles are a mix. Everything is attached using thin wire.
- Gifts from the Kitchen – I’m going to be going a bit wild in the kitchen this week making some little gifts for friends. I have a book called ‘Gifts from the Kitchen’ and it is perfect for this time of year. Let’s hope there aren’t too many culinary disasters! I thought I would share an idea each day next week (Mon-Fri). I hope you like them.
- Shawn Mendes – I have a thing for Shawn Mendes at the moment. Not him (although I’m sure he’s a nice person!) – just his music. I love ‘Mercy’ and ‘Treat You Better’. Both have been on repeat this week – a lot.
Have a fantastic weekend!
