20160222_154902“A portrait of my boys, once a week, every week, in 2016″.

I came across a quote this week that read: “The good thing about the future is that it comes one day at a time.” Although it’s obvious, I’ve been thinking about it a lot this week and how grateful I am that the future comes steadily – one sunset after another. I so look forward to the future with my little family, but I am also so desperate to cherish as much of the here and now as possible. As they grow older, I am know I am going to miss the uninhibited, raw, silly, free, natural, ridiculous, boundless and childlike people they are now. I often wonder how I can nourish that side of them as they age.

W: After a rough start to Monday morning (tears, tantrums and displays of over tiredness all before 8am) the two of them played beautifully all day together – I felt like it was a little miracle. Win did numerous song and dance shows for me from ‘the stage’, and Ru was his obliging sidekick.

R: Ru goes to playgroup twice a week for two hours and every morning this week he has asked if he can go. I think he loves it even more than Win did at his age. I’ve been using these few hours to organise myself for the new baby, go shopping, chat with friends or do some reading.
