This week has been a homey one. Sometimes we just need a week like that don’t we? A little back to basics, and I’ve managed to organise a few ‘problem areas’ in the house that I’ve been meaning to do for ages. We started renovating our house two years ago now, and we really need to finish it off completely. There is no valid excuse any more (not that there ever has been). The three of us hit IKEA yesterday to get a few bits which was good fun.
We spent a morning in the woods on Monday – they both loved it, particularly Ru, and Win really enjoyed his two days at nursery. He never wants to come home, which makes me happy and sad!

Maybe I should give up on this section? Not a lot other than Women’s Health magazine. It’s so inspiring though. I also loved a blog post by Rachel from The Ordinary Lovely entitled ‘The Importance of Being Lazy’. I’ve met super lovely Rachel a couple of times and it’s a post I could really relate to.
Watched
The Great British Bake Off final. I’ve missed 3 or 4 weeks along the way but I have always loved Nadiya, so I was pleased when she triumphed. How amazing was Tamal’s show stopper though – seriously spectacular!
Heard
Oh goodness me. I’ve had a cheesy week – Boys II Men, Justin Timberlake, Ed Sheeran, Whitney Houston, The Saturdays…anything that promotes kitchen dancing really.
Made
I’ve been working on a little upcycling project this week – it’s not quite done yet, but it’s going to look very different from this…
I also made this very simple allium garland and hung it in our lounge. I absolutely love it! They’re like oversized baubles.
Wore
I rediscovered an oversized wool camel coat I have this week and it is so warm. I will probably be wearing it in all picture from now on! My mum bought me a dress when I was pregnant with Win to look forward to wearing after having him, then I carried on the tradition after Ru. This week I bought a new dress from Atterley Road to look forward to wearing after this baby. I love the peter pan collar.
And lastly…
Ru and I planned on walking into town one very rainy morning, but we didn’t end up leaving our cul-de-sac. There were far too many puddles and he spent about an hour splashing around. It came to an end when he started dipping his head in (!)…followed by a hot bubble bath and a nap. Absolutely drenched.
Happy weekend!

#LittleLoves is a chance to remember all the things that made up your week. Linking up with Morgana.
I love your photos. I’m impressed you took your tuff spot into the woods, our dog has taken to sleeping in the tuff spot so it’s been repurposed at the moment! I love upcycling and look forward to seeing what you do to your bookcase x
Thank you so much Louisa! x
Wasn’t Tamal’s last bake just spectacular? Nadiya has been my favourite all the way through though so I was really pleased that she won.
Excited to see your upcycled project when it’s finished!
Have a lovely weekend xx
Seriously amazing! They are all so talented! x
My son has also really been enjoying the puddles this week. We walked home from school on that day when it tipped down (Tuesday) and he was scooting through puddles on his balance bike. We were soaked through by the time we got home, but dried out quickly enough. These are the great free pleasures of childhood!
Agreed. Such great pleasures…and simple ones too! x
Problem areas… We have a few of those too, although I also find IKEA generally has the answers!! Love the garland!
Agreed! and for once I went with an actual list rather than buying random bits…it felt so good! Thank you xx
Gotta love a bit of Boys II Men! Love that garland you made, looks lovely! Ha ha Ru dipped his head in the puddles? Bless him that’s so funny! Have a good week x
I’m so glad that you like Boyz II Men too – brilliant and such good memories. Thank you – hope you’re having a wonderful week xx
I love all of your outdoors photos. The boys look so happy. Thanks for mentioning my post. I’m still finding it hard to do nothing but am making more of an effort. I have three magazines to sit down and read!! Hoping to get through them by the end of the month 🙂
Thanks Rachel and hope you get through your magazines! 😉 xx
