I absolutely loved my wedding, but I’m glad I won’t ever have to do it again (!) I loved having (just about) every single person in the whole world that I adore in one place at one time. I loved looking around the room and seeing face after face of people I love, from all stages of my life. It is something I will treasure forever. I barely slept the night before my wedding because I was so nervous about walking down the aisle and being the centre of attention. I remember feeling completely at ease as I entered the room – then I got mad at myself for getting so ridiculously worked up about it. I just smiled and waved like crazy the whole way down the aisle. Such good fun.
I’m quite relieved that I got married before Pinterest was ‘a thing’. I would literally have wasted days of my life looking at pretty pictures, flowers and arrangements. Now I enjoy attending weddings more than ever. It reminds me of my special day and I love imagining what an adventure they’ll have together. I also love admiring all the decor and little details. My sister’s wedding was perfect and the weather couldn’t have been better. We somehow ‘forgot’ to take a family picture which we were a little disappointed about, but I did get plenty of our boys!
