This week we have kept everything really local and it’s been so nice. Win’s been on his bike and I’ve done so much walking – now I have about five plasters all over my feet. I haven’t been wearing any fancy footwear, so I’m not sure what’s going on.
Win bashed his nose quite badly one night and he said to feel better he needed to hold a wet towel on his nose, then have a drink, a shower in the morning and finally a visit to the castle. Who needs a mum hey? I can’t decide if it was sweet or manipulation (!) I’m glad he suggested the castle though because it was one of my favourite outings of the week. It’s a giant climbing frame and always peaceful.
I’ve been sent a book called ‘Hippy Dinners’ to review – it’s a collection of memories from a rural childhood and so far it’s hilarious. I seriously love Mr Fox Magazine, and I’ve been catching up with it this week, as well as Babyccino Kids blog. I adore them both.
Watched
I’ve watched two films this week, which is unusual for me. Jared and I watched ‘Insurgent’ one night and then we took the boys to see the new minion film. I’m pretty sure it was Jared who wanted to see the minion film really, he kept talking about it and planning when we could go. Win’s favourite part was Bob looking after his teddy bear. What a let down. I tried to persuade him to like the lava gun more, but he wasn’t having any of it. I enjoyed ‘Insurgent’, but it was so far fetched in places, which really irritates me by the end. Just about everyone should have been dead at least three times…but of course they weren’t!
Heard
For my birthday I received Taylor Swift’s 1989 album and I really love it. My favourite song is ‘Wildest Dreams’. It’s a bit of a Lana Del Rey rip off, but I like it. I’m a fan of ‘Bad Blood’ too.
Made
I posted my Summertime Surprise Project, but I forgot to take some pictures. I was pretty happy with some cards I made with detachable animal badges on. They’re a bit quirky, but fun and hopefully they’ll appreciate good intentions! I realise I’ve made them sound awful.
Wore
It’s been quite cold this week, so I’ve worn a crazy coatigan most days. I love the colours and it’s lovely and warm.
And lastly…
I’ve made a hair appointment for next Friday to go blonde. I’m sort of freaking out, but it’s something I’ve been contemplating for well over a year. I went dark when I was 22 and I feel like I want to be blonde one last time before I turn 30 in a couple of years. Totally illogical, I know. I’ve dug out my first ever Facebook profile picture to show you. It was taken the day I was packing to go to Uni, so that’s why it’s such a mess. I would often wear random clothes around the house, and I’ve just realised I still have that stripy top!
Wish me luck! and have a really wonderful weekend.
E xx
#LittleLoves is a chance to remember all the things that made up your week. Linking up with Morgana.
That cardigan is flipping mint! Loving it! I still need to see insurgent..cant wait. The kids are currently working hard with their sticker chart to go see the minions movie too, lets hope they achieve it before it’s gone!
Lovely pics from the castle, gorgeous pair! Cant wait to see your blondness again ahhhhhhhh x
I don’t know how we saw Insurgent? Is it out? We watched it online and Jared said it was legal! I hope they get to see the minion film. It is so cute!!! Freaking out about the blonde. I hope they understand what colour I want! x
I love your cardigan! Looks amazing!! Cannot wait to take the children to see the Minion movie.. Next week hopefully! Have a wonderful weekend
Thank you! and I hope you get to see the film! It’s fab xx
Hehe a coatigan, brilliant! It has cooled down hasn’t it..boo. Your trip to the castle looks so much fun, exploring places like that are great. Aww Bob and his teddy was so sweet 🙂 hope you have a lovely weekend xx
It certainly has – I hope the British summer can squeeze a few more weeks of sunshine out. Bob is super cute! x
I love that coatigan! It’s been like winter again this week! Castle looks fab, your boys are so cute and I’m looking forward to seeing you blonde! xx
Thanks Jess! Kind of scared but fingers crossed. Slightly worried how dark my eyebrows are going to look! Hahaa x
Love that pic – reminds me of my old bedroom! The castle looks lovely. I do love a good castle – such a history geek! I’m thinking of braving the cinema for the first time with my loopy 3 year old to see the minions film once we move in a few weeks – just gotta build up the courage first! Have a great weekend x
You must take him! I bet he will love it, or buy a cheap ticket in case you have to make an early exit 😉 We’re history geeks too 😉 xx
Insurgent is on our to-watch list, we just watched Divergent the other week and I really liked it. Not sure when it’ll be on Sky though. Your boys are very cute, and the castle looks like the perfect place for them to explore. #littleloves
I loved Divergent too! I can’t wait for the third one to come out. Although like I said…everyone should have been dead. Hahaa x
I love your hair blonde. It’ll look fab. Love the coatigan as well, very boho chic. X
Thanks gorgeous! Nervous, but excited! xx
Gorgeous photos of your boys. I enjoyed Divergent, looking forward to the next one. Enjoy your trip to the hairdressers. I was blonde through much of my twenties, but have been a brunette again throughout my thirties. Nice to have a change 🙂
Thank you! I agree with you that it’s nice to have a change…let’s hope it’s not too much of a change and I decide to dye it back the next day!!! x
Your hair looks lovely blonde! I need to book to get mine done in the weekend and I’m freaking out a bit too. Always have the ‘what if it goes wrong’ worry in my head and visions of turning orange/green 🙊. LOVE your coatigan! I want one! What’s with this weather? It’s ruining all our plans!!! xxx 😘
So ‘going blonde’ didn’t quite go to plan…it’s basically brown with blonde in. It was honestly hilarious what little difference there is, but I’m going back so they can do it again! The coatigan was from the Zara sale. My hubs does not get items of clothing like this. I ruddy love it! xx
Should have guessed it would be Zara. Love it. I have pretty much every striped shirt they’ve ever made! I dyed my hair last week too. There’s a slight (unwanted) orange tinge to it now…. Xxx
Zara gets so many things right and I love how cheap things get if you wait the sale out. I hate how hair colour changes after dying it. It’s annoying! x
