Sunshine, Salt-Water and Mariah Carey – #Littleloves

The British summer has been alive and well over the last couple of days and it has made me so happy inside. I’ve enjoyed getting back into our home routine after half term, and the grass in our back garden is ready to play on (yes!) so I’ve loved watching the boys play outside whilst I cook dinner.

Read

Rachel who blogs over at The Ordinary Lovely told me about this sweet book when I met her at Blog On MOSI. It arrived this week and Win and I have enjoyed talking and looking at the pictures. The illustration is really quite stunning. A gorgeous book that Rufus isn’t allowed to touch, just yet!

Watched

Jared and I caught up with Revenge on Monday night. There’s one episode left, and although we’ve really enjoyed it I’m glad it’s coming to an end. I will miss the ritual of sitting down together once a week for an hour, but I’m not ready to watch another series yet!

Heard

I can’t remember the last time I bought a CD but I saw Mariah Carey’s Greatest Hits in the supermarket last week and I just had to buy it. If Winston says “touch my body” or “always be my baby”, bad parenting is entirely to blame. I’m trying to wean myself off it, but it is so good.

Made

Win and I created some finger puppets from one of his favourite stories. They were so much fun to create and he’s trying to work out what to do with them. My teacup candle tutorial is also live for those that are interested.

Wore

I am the proud owner of some tan Salt-Water sandals thanks to Rachel and Keri-Anne.  I bought a new pair of leather tan sandals from Office just before we went on holiday and they completely fell apart. I’m relieved that I don’t have to worry about when and where I wear these Salt-Waters, as going in the sea and walking lots is encouraged. I thought they would feel clumpy to wear, but they’re not at all. So pleased. I’ve got my eye on the silver ones.

And lastly…

One gorgeous afternoon we headed to Harlow Carr Gardens with one of my lovely friends. We had a glorious afternoon soaking up all the beauty and eating ice-cream.

I’ve finally finished sorting out the remainder of my China photographs, so expect the final two posts to appear next week.

Happy weekend!

We have a similar nature book, the girls are a little obsessed. Especially Yve’s, Grampy also got her a little bug jar to check them out more closely. L( loving those saltwaters, I need some in my life! xx

That is so so lovely!!! I bet she loves it. You definitely need Salt Waters – the only sandals to survive motherhood because they’re so sturdy! xx

Those puppets are so cute! What a fun idea 🙂 love those sandals as well, are they a bit cushioned, so there’s a bit of something between you and the floor? Ice creams in actual summer weather, what a lovely afternoon. Hope you have a good weekend xx

Thank you. I wouldn’t say they are cushioned but they are definitely thicker than most sandals I’ve ever tried on, on the high street. They sell them in Office so you could go and try on a pair first? I hope you had a wonderful week xx

I’m so happy that you like the book. And the sandals 🙂 After chatting to you on Twitter, I actually went and ordered a pair each for my boys. They are just the cutest! The littlest have brown and the eldest navy. Little feet in little sandals are almost edible 🙂

Where did you buy the kiddie ones from? I really don’t think my three year old would agree to wear them, but for the future 😉 I bet they look completely adorable! xx

Those sandals look so comfy. I love Revenge and have recorded last nights final episode to watch when I have a bit of peace and quiet over the weekend. It feels like the end of an era, Revenge always reminds me of O’s baby days and as they are well behind us it feels fitting for it to end now. Hope you’re having a lovely week. xxx

What did you think to Revenge? Eeeep. I’m relieved it’s over as I would think about it for so long afterwards! I started watching it when I had Ru (we watched almost two full series in the week he was born)!….so I know exactly where you’re coming from! xx

I love the look of that book, I shall have to have a look for it.
I’m so tempted to get a pair of Saltwater sandals, I’ve even contemplated trying to stock the kids sizes in my shop next year as I keep hearing such good things about them.
    Have a lovely week! xx

I bought that book too after seeing it on Rachel’s IG, I have it stored away for Lucas’ birthday present but I keep taking it out and stroking the cover, haha, it’s just so pretty! Love that you bought a Mariah Carey CD, I would be belting out those songs too 🙂 xx
