Swimming, brownies and early morning gym classes – #Littleloves

We’ve been out of the house a lot this week, dinner has been eaten later and the boys have both been shattered by bedtime. It has been fun to be a little out of routine.

I have managed to get to the gym twice this week for 6:30am, which I feel is a minor breakthrough. It has been brilliant to have our evenings freer.

This is quite random but I have started a book called ‘The Clan of the Cave Bear’ by Jean M.Auel. It is about a girl who is adopted into a Neanderthal tribe. Jean is respected by renowned scientists, archaeologists and anthropologists around the world for her extensive research. I don’t know much about how Neanderthals lived so I’m very intrigued.

Watched

I took the boys swimming one morning and they were both completely ecstatic when they saw the pool. Win jumped off the side hundreds of times and Ru was almost too excited to do anything else other than flap around. I always feel a tad stressed at the thought of taking them both swimming, but every single time it has been absolutely fine. I definitely need to do it more.

Heard

Random again, but I have rediscovered Peaches & Cream by 112 and Honey by Mariah Carey this week. The sunshine makes me yearn for songs of my youth.

Made

We have been out a lot this week so we haven’t been getting our craft on, but I have made lots of bits from the Deliciously Ella book including sweet potato brownies, banana flapjack, houmous, bean chilli and peanut butter fudge. All were really tasty and incredibly simple to make.

Jared has problems tolerating gluten and sugar, and we finally feel that we have enough resources to remove both completely from our house. It’s something we’ve been contemplating for a few years, but we haven’t felt ready for it until now. It all went in a bag and out of the house. I felt nervous at first, but a week later I feel so good about it.

Making a coffee with two sugars and milk for a workman this week proved a little tricky though…

Wore

My trench coat and my leather jacket – not together! but I have loved being able to wear lighter options.

We are spending this weekend in Cambridge as one of my sisters is getting married there in August. I’ve not been before, so I’m delighted that we’ll get to explore it a little over the next few months.

Win and a couple of his cousins ate their first ice cream of the year. He ate every last bit!

I really must get that Deliciously Ella book, those brownies look delicious. We could do with removing gluten as my husband finds it tricky sometimes, but I’m just too scared to do it. I love pasta and bread too much! xx

The brownies certainly don’t taste like the real thing but they definitely do the trick…if you forget what the real thing is like they are totally yum. I was really scared but I feel relieved that we finally made the decision to do it. It’s impossible for me to lose weight if I eat any pasta or bread, so it will be good for me too! x

I know what you mean – she is seriously stunning. So naturally so. Really impressed with it. My willpower is rubbish, but I’m determined to sort it out this year! It can’t go on! x

I’ve heard lots of good things about the DE book…on to the wish list it goes! I haven’t taken my two swimming together get….I fear it’s a 2 adult job

It’s really great! and I don’t think it’s very expensive on Amazon either. Taking two won’t be as bad as you think…as long as you have plenty of snacks for the changing rooms 😉 xx

I definitely need to grab a copy of that book. Healthy snacks and treats are definitely something we could use around here (I have a serious cake and chocolate addiction) and those ice creams look divine! Have a great week! #littleloves

Sweet potato brownies sound interesting, are they nice??
I took my little boy swimming too this week, I’m a bit lazy at taking him and he loves it so I’ve made myself a promise to take him more xx

    • 18th April 2015 / 9:02 pm

They are definitely nice and certainly do the trick…you just need to forget what the real thing tastes like momentarily. I’ve made that promise too! Kids just go crazy for a swimming pool! xx

I’ve done 11 days now – nothing to write home about but it’s a start. I want to do at least 6 weeks so I can break the habit of grabbing things. Thank you, I hope you have a lovely one too! xx

  8. 18th April 2015 / 8:36 am

Ah man the peanut butter fudge sounds lush! I downloaded the Deliciously Ella app, I’m yet to make anything as I need to prep a bit but I’m so looking forward to clean eating again! Have a fab weekend in Cambridge 🙂 Kerry x

That Deliciously Ella book looks amazing. I may just need to invest. So pleased you’re finding a way to deal with the sugar and glutton issues.
