When I started maternity leave with Winston I spent my days putting together online photobooks, one for each year. I began in 2005 and managed to get right up to date. As you can imagine it took hours and hours. They weren’t totally finished and we never got around to printing them, so imagine my absolute horror when they wouldn’t open because the online software had changed. I could not believe it. I’m not quite over it yet, but I know I need to start all over again, soon. Ten years, ten photobooks and lots of hours – it’s one of the projects I’m determined to get done this year. The longer I leave it, the harder it’s going to be to get started…and finished.
I also want to organise the photographs in our home and have some older ones on display – pictures from our childhoods, pictures of our parents and pictures of our grandparents. My sister has our grandparents wedding pictures, our parents wedding picture and their wedding picture displayed in her home, and it is all so beautiful to look at. I love looking at the style, the colours, the expressions and the locations. I have a few pictures from my childhood that bring back so many memories, and I’d love to have them on display. I had such a happy childhood and being reminded of it fills me up.
This is my two cousins and I at around three years old. We still have so much love for one another.
This one cracks me up because my Mum gave it to my Nanna, and she refused to have to have it on display in her home because I looked so miserable. It makes me chuckle.
My Mum used to make so many matching clothes for my sister and I, and I remember these dresses so vividly.
I’m too young to remember this photo being taken but I cannot tell you how much I love my brother. He is such a special person and I absolutely love this picture.
This one of my Grandma is special to me as well.
My childhood mainly consisted of bossing my younger sister around and we played on this tractor none stop. I refused to have my hair done most days so it was always a mess.
This was taken at my 21st birthday party. We weren’t engaged, but we knew we were going to get married.
Sometimes it is the most unexpected and simple pictures that we love. These are some of the more relaxed photographs taken at my sisters wedding last year, and I was so happy when I discovered them.
It looks like Winston has has enough and is marching back to Grandma’s house.
This is first thing in the morning whilst we were all getting dressed.
Just before my sister walked down the aisle.
I’ve already been to get lots of recent photographs printed off, but at the moment they are just shoved on our shelving unit waiting to be organised. I have a feeling I will need some more wall space!

Oh I love looking at photos and love the ones of you as a child – the colours and hairstyles are just amazing! x
Ah – me too! What children wear has changed so much hasn’t it? My hair was always such a bird’s nest! x
Ah loved looking at your old photos- it’s so special having them isn’t it? I have a huge box out in the garage that I need to sort out- I love looking at them every now and again. x
Definitely – so special. I’ve got a few of my favourite oldies up already and they’re making me so happy! 🙂 xx
