Making and baking for Valentine’s Day

Jared and I aren’t massive celebrators of Valentine’s Day, but I do love an excuse to bake. My sister in law is on the same wave length so we decided to get together for an epic baking session. Four children, two adults, lots of sugar, an unbelievable amount of mess and a whole lot of love.

I do cope rather well with short term chaos. It makes the clean up so much more satisfying!

Amongst the madness we managed to produce brownies, shortbread, red velvet cookies, jam pastry hearts and vanilla fudge. It just kept snowballing. Don’t worry, not everything had licked toddler fingers all over it – just some.

IMG_0299Whilst we finished off the baking, the kids decided to head outside to build a ‘cat machine’ (whatever that is), in our incredibly muddy garden! We plan to turf it in Spring.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Those treats look wonderful and your garden will be heaven when it’s turfed – it has to get worse before it can get better! x
