The end of summer

With the end of September just a couple of weeks away, I thought it would be a good idea to review the few things I wrote down to accomplish before autumn is upon us. I’m fully supporting this extra bit of warm weather we are having. Glorious. Ru is also feeling much better, which is a bit of a relief.

Finish my quilt – I am no where near finished but the good news is, is that I have been working on it. I’m enjoying taking a relaxed approach to it.

Go to Ilkley Lido – We attempted to go but it was full – so we swam in the river instead. I’m still very keen to go though.

Visit Whitby Abbey – Our English Heritage ran out before we had a chance to visit.

Go camping – I don’t think we’ll get chance to do this one.

Get chickens – We’ve hired a mini digger this week and have been on with the garden. I’m hoping that we’ll just squidge this one in to September. Level earth, have a fence built and turf. We’ll see.

Take Winston pond dipping – We went this week and had a brilliant time at Fairburn Ings RSPB. They are now on twitter and run lots of family activities throughout the year.

Complete Park Run a number of times and improve my time – I haven’t done it as much as I would have liked, but I have done it a few times. My time now stands at 27.01 minutes. Ideally, I would like it to be 25 mins. Must try harder.

Buy a bike trailer – Yes! and we are using it lots.

Get Rufus sleeping through the night – Ish. By this age, Winston was sleeping 7pm-7am, but Ru is still feeding at around 11pm and often wakes before 7am for a feed. He’s slowly waking later each morning, which is positive (for me anyway).

Read a book, other than craft books – I’m doing well with this one, and am loving it. I used to be a massive reader (as a student I had lots of tube time to kill) and am realising how much I’ve missed it. I went on Amazon one night, went on a review reading craze and came out purchasing eight books. So far I’ve read 3, 096 days by Natascha Kampusch and And the Mountains Echoed by Khaled Hosseini. My current read is The Examined Life by Stephen Grosz. Two kids is no excuse for not reading.

Strawberry picking – Done!

Redesign my blog – Ish. I’ve put together and thought about a few things. Now all I need is time.

Keep on top of my diet and exercise – this as usual has been quite up and down. Must. Do. Better.
