Pizza in the Park

It’s great when you meet somebody who seems to know about lots of hidden gems and they are happy to share them with you. Pizza in the Park is one such gem that a friend recently told me about. On the edge of 14 acres of land that is being developed into a nature reserve and conservation area, there is a man (plus wife and children) with a pizza oven, serving pizza and much more.

Pizza in the Park takes place on The Old Plantation, Ash Lane, Church Fenton, North Yorkshire. The weather wasn’t particularly nice when we went, but there is a covered area where you can take shelter. There is so much space for children to run around, a gorgeous pond and a tipi that is available for events. Parking is not a problem either and no need to book.

They also serve drinks (water, soft drinks, wine, beer), salad and have a huge selection of tempting homemade cakes. Jared took some gluten free pizza bases and they were more than happy to cook them. Everything is super clean (except the portaloos perhaps), service was fast and everybody was super friendly.

I definitely want to go back on a warm, drier evening with a few other families. It would be great fun!
