The Mud Kitchen

We didn’t make massive plans for Bank Holiday Monday, but we had a really lovely day. In the morning we headed to ‘The Mud Kitchen’, which is an outdoor play scheme based near Selby, Yorkshire. I’ve taken Winston before and he seems to enjoy it, although he doesn’t give much away, and likes to be left alone to get on with things. Some of his older cousins were off school so they came to join us. Winston spent most of the time stick fighting with his cousin.

Activities on offer were:

  • Mud Painting
  • Den Building
  • Perfume Making
  • Dandelion Crowns
  • Cornflour Goop
  • Spaghetti Play
  • Baking with Mud

…plus some other messy activities – and biscuits of course!

We then unexpectedly headed into York for a spot of food and shopping, then Jared and I finished the day by watching a film.

Ru showing us his leg raises. I am right there to catch him – don’t worry! It was colder than expected so the double buggy came in handy for intruders.
