The beginning of our home renovation

PicMonkey Collage

This week I am living at my parents house with my son whilst our whole downstairs gets renovated. Winston suffers with his chest so we don’t want him inhaling all the dust. New kitchen, new flooring, new carpet, walls being moved, breakfast bar being installed, tiling, plastering…rah, rah, rah. The list goes on. My husband is doing a lot himself so we can save some cash – I feel so sorry for him.

Buying the new kitchen was so nerve wracking. Very worried it won’t look how I’m imagining it in my head, but we’ll see. I can’t wait to go home and view the damage – then it will be on with the painting. Over the past few months we have slowly been buying things and thankfully we don’t differ too much on taste so it’s been pretty easy; although my husband will moan that I’m bothered about things that don’t matter (but they really do) rather than the big decisions. There have been two things that I really wanted to have done that took a lot of persuading (both essential of course):

– Allowing me to build an indoor swing for the Winst. I wanted it in the lounge but we have agreed to have it in the study instead. SCORE! I’ve written the list of gear that I need and will let you know how I get on.

– Allowing me to paint a section of wall in blackboard paint so we can do some doodling together. It means moving an electrical socket but who cares? This has also been agreed. SCORE!

I will upload some before and after pics once it’s all done..meanwhile, I am very much enjoying the comforts of being at home-home! 🙂 Love my Ma and Pa!
